There are a couple of openMosix related questions that come up once in a while and don't have a Yes and No answer. These are more of a Work in progress kind of questions.

If you know the answer, feel free to fill in the explanation ;)

'Q: What's the status of openMosix and XFS?'

'A:' since 2.4.25, XFS is included in vanilla kernel and so in openMosix. for the 2.4.22-2, XFS patch from SGI should apply easily (ignore Makefile failure if any).

'Q: What's the status of openMosix and tmpfs?'

'A:' Vincent Hanquez resolved the mfs issue that cause tmpfs to crash.

'Q: What's the status of openMosix and Distributed Shared Memory?'

'A:' There's the migshm patch by the MAASK group. The site is at [1]. Those patches need some more work so that they can get to a more stable status but, so far, many users have reported to have successfully being able to run apache with it.

'Q: What's the status of openMosix on 2.6.x?'

'A:' Vincent Hanquez is following both the 2.4.x and 2.6.x series of the kernel and preliminary (not official and not extensively tested) patches can be found at [2]. However 2.6 port isn't finished yet.

'Q: What's the status of running UML on openMosix?'

'A:' There's a howto to be found at [3].
