Guidelines
From OpenMosixWiki
Welcome to the #openmosix guidelines and channel FAQ.
Please follow the these guidelines when asking a question
- If you are looking for a High Availability Solution : go to #linux-cluster and start reading at http://www.linux-ha.org/
openMosix is not a High Availability Solution
- If you are looking for a solution to loadbalance http connections to your apache , go to #linux-cluster and start reading at http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/ openMosix is not a solution to scale tcp connections. LVS will help you with that.
- 2.4.26-om1 is probably your safest bet for a production environment
- If you are looking for the 2.6 kernel release , realize it is in early beta and that lots of features are not implemented yet , go have a look at http://openmosix.snarc.org/wakka.php?wiki=HomePage for more information on 2.6 and please report bugs to the mailinglist so that we can continue making it better.
- The userland tools for 2.4 will NOT work on 2.6 , you need to get the 2.6 userland tools, which are also in extreme beta from David's site http://www.orcero.org/irbis/openmosix/userland.html
