2.4.19 running on a 8362-A53
From IBMNetstationWiki
Today 24/8/2002 I got this great message ;0)
I am in the process of porting Linux to the IBM Network Station 1000. I have a 2.4.19 kernel running on an 8362-A53 model, with the console over the serial port. My current focus is on getting the graphics interface working.
My biggest obstacle in this is not knowing anything about
the PCI/ISA bridge in the device. The bridge PCI ID says
it is an IBM Fire Coral bridge, but I have not been able
to find any online documentation for register settings, etc.
The PCI ID for the chip is vendor0x1014, device0x000A.
I did download the PDF files for the 27-82660 host bridge, which is available from the IBM web site. I assume the PCI/ISA bridge is a discontinued product.
(The ISA bridge does not tie into the VGA chip itself, but I think the bridge positively decodes some of the I/O and memory cycles on the PCI bus meant for the VGA chip.)
Do you have any information on the box as a whole or any of the chips in it? Any ideas most appreciated==== ====
